If first time started the game with fullscreen, it wouldn't start. If configured to start windowed, and then changed resolution and fullscreen settings ingame (instead of configuring them via outside config dialog) everything works perfectly. Next time it starts fullscreen with proper resolution.

Had to enable D3D, DXVK doesn't work, says directx 10/11 not installed/supported.

It only crackles on the startup, didn't catch anything odd during games
Went to the 8.0-2 since the Experimental only gets me up to the main menu (can't start the campaign nor skirmish)

When loading a level or a map, the game minimises for a second and then gets up afterwards. If afterwards a piece of the loading screen is missing (is just black), minimise and re-enter the game, it will be fixed.

I couldn't go past the game launcher/graphics settings until Steam prompted to install directx and ms c++ redistributables. I wasn't offered those automatically. They were offered only after I tried Skyrim Special Edition. Until then, whenever I tried launching Stronghold 2, it wouldn't offer me those installations

Without -popupwindow flag in launch options the game is essentially bugged, I can't click anything and the lower portion of the screen is inaccessible. Also, the game throws an exception when trying to play it with Proton Experimental, so I had to switch to 8.0-2

8.0-2 works well, Proton Experimental starts the game, but when you start the campaign or tutorial it crashes down.

I couldn't create a new profile, when I click create nothing happens. Had to turn off the Steam sync save files for this game and delete content from folder profiles to be able to create a profile and start playing.
